A total of EUR 9.3 billion of new capital was invested in investment funds registered in Finland in 2024. The increase in fund capital was also affected by positive market developments. The total fund capital was worth 184 billion euros at the end of December, compared with 149 billion at the end of 2023. A total of 285 million euros were redeemed from real estate funds in 2024.
During 2024, a total of 4.7 billion euros of new funds were invested in equity funds and 1.9 billion euros in long-term interest funds. In addition, EUR 1.8 billion of new capital was invested in composite funds and EUR 0.9 billion in short-term interest funds.
Some real estate fund redemptions have been discussed at the turn of the year, and the topic has been discussed, for example, in a column by Finanssiala ry at the beginning of January. A total of EUR 285 million was redeemed from real estate funds (including forest funds) during the year, while a total of EUR 275 million of new capital was invested in other alternative funds.
In December, a total of EUR 1.4 billion of new capital was invested. A total of EUR 1.6 billion of new funds were invested in equity, combination, long-term interest and alternative funds. Capital was redeemed only from short-term interest funds totalling EUR 266 million.
